Gmod is just a laggy game. Especially on servers with about 120 players and 120 player's worth of props.
It's quite fun actually. You'd think it's messy but the server I'm on remains playable cause the people are all over the map, I mostly spent my time in the middle of the map with my buddy.
But I can imagine it's a hellhole when you're surrounded by 100 people, 70% of them little boys yelling in their $10 Walmart mics.
Yea I figured. Strangely enough the lag doesn't bother me much even when it's 15-20 fps because I've been playing gmod since I was a kid and I've never got stable framerates. I just wanted to give this thread a shot :p

Right Click on Garry's Mod -> Properties -> General -> Set Launch Options
Also, while your in there, limit your FPS near the refresh rate of your monitor. 200 fps will burn out your GPU quicker. It won't produce any benefit, becuase computer monitors can't keep up. Some very high end monitors can utilize up to 144fps, but most monitors can only use utilize 60fps.
For a 60 hertz monitor, I normally use the following setting.
