PROP HUNT - Object floating above me when I turn into prop

Whenever I try to turn into an object (pressing E) I turn into the desired object but then the original object I tried to turn into, say for example, a newspaper, will be floating above me. So I'm just a newspaper running around with a newspaper floating above my head lol
Does anyone know how to solve this? I just got the latest update for Gary's Mod because I literally just got the game a few days ago so I don't know what could be causing this.Thanks!

Silly question, did you press 'E' again to drop the object?

Not silly at all :) Yeah, I did. And sometimes it works, but other times it ends up sending the original object flying across the room or completely destroying all the other objects around. Kind of hard to hide after all that XD
Do you know if there is a way to prevent picking up the original object in the first place?
