Very Low FPS On Garry's Mod On High End PC
So basically what's happening is that my Garry's mod has very low fps, regardless of what graphics settings I put it on. I can run Arma 3 Altis Life in ultra and still get 70 FPS. I've done some homework and found out my garry's mod is a 32bit version. I'm not sure if there is a 64bit version available but I do have a 64bit computer. I've tried just about everything everyone has suggested on other forum posts but their issues never lined up with mine.

Another thing I've noticed is if there is low amount of players on the servers, my fps comes up to about 60 fps or lower. When there is about 30 people on the server I get about 20FPS average. I currently staff on a DarkRP server and lagging on my computer isn't really helping. Other players I've asked with lesser pc builds say their FPS is 120. I'd really like to fix this issue, I will list off my parts below.

Case - NZXT H440
CPU - Hexacore Intel Core i7-5920K, 3.30GHZ (36x100) - 6 Core & 12 Threads
Motherboard - Asus X99 Pro/USB 3.1 (2 PCI-E x1, 4 PCI-e x16, 2 M.2, 8 DDR4 DIMM, Crystal Sound 2, Gigabit LAN Connection.
RAM - 32 GB DDR4 - 2133MHZ
GPU - Asus Strix 1070 8GB
SSD - 128 GB Kingston
HDD - 2 TB Western Digital 7200RPM
Cooler - Cooler Master Big Block CPU Cooler
PSU - 850W Power Supply
Audio Interface for mic and headphones - Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2
Microphone - Audio Technica 2035
OS - Windows 10 Pro 64Bit

With all of this if anybody has a clue about this, I'd like to figure it out. I also have an issue with audio, at times where my PC is under load I have this static popping that distorts my sound horribly only when audio is playing. This can be Teamspeak, Garry's Mod, Youtube, Netflix, Etc. I've narrowed down that my audio interface isn't the problem as I have unplugged it and used the headphone jack instead to listen to audio with the same result. I should also mention this PC was bought USED. All the drives were wiped and I personally went through the device manager and updated every single driver. I have also insured all windows updates are installed. Please someone if you know anything about this audio issue please let me know. I will also say during load I.E. Garry's mod, Arma 3 , ETC . My GPU, CPU, Storage are all below 50% usage. I have also made sure my GPU Temp is low. I have the lights on the GPU setup to indicate temperature I.E Green is very cool. yellow is warmish , orange is warm , red is hot. During this audio lag often my pc lags too. My mouse is jumpy all over the screen and chrome pages take forever to load. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP!

Oh and by the way how many workshop addons do you have? if you have a ridiculous amount that can make your game run crudy. Gmod has a 2048 lua limit.

I have about 20 addons. Thank you I'll try that right now and let you know.

I have about a steady 100 FPS average on the server now! Is there another command to help more?

The lowest FPS im recieving is 55 FPS

Use these with caution. You may have to revert if they're not stable.
gmod_mcore_test 1 mat_queue_mode -1 cl_threaded_bone_setup 1
The reason why your FPS is lower than you expect is the i7-5820k. Single threaded it only benchmarks 2000 due to extra cores. Other i7 models like the i7-7700k are better for gaming with benchmark of 2500. Garry's Mod like other source-engine games are heavily single threaded.

If you have water cooling, it would be highly beneficial to overclock your CPU. Bringing it up to 4ghz would likely yeild a minimum FPS increase of 15-20%. This is easy obtainable.

To revert to the original how would I do that? Put them back to 0?

Whats posted above I suppose. Glad it helped. That multicore precessing switch in game options doesnt actually work but to turn it on that command has to be entered. Which is why it says dont complain if your game gets unstable. Happy playing.

Yes. Typing in the command without a number should tell you default value.

Thank you! So now add those commands to my autoexec.cfg ?

You should add them to your game's launch options instead by putting the + symbol infront.
+gmod_mcore_test 1 +mat_queue_mode -1 +cl_threaded_bone_setup 1
Right click on Garry's Mod -> Properties -> General -> Set Launch Options -> Copy and Paste.

This also makes it easier to revert by simply just deleting the command in launch options.

I would revert back to the default branch and wait for them to fix that issue. There are most likely stability issues with chromium as this branch is still in the beta testing phase.

Could you post basic specifications like CPU, GPU and Ram?
