[Solved] gmad.exe isn't creating a .gma?
Been following this tutorial: https://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Workshop_Addon_Creation

When I drag and drop my addon's folder onto gmad.exe, it pops up for a split second before closing, and afterward there's no gma file. I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with my folder, it's formatted as instructed and has a json file.

Edit: verified cache. No difference.

That is not how gmad.exe works. The principle is that you're supposed to open the command prompt, navigate to the executable and then run the program along with some information. You can Google how to properly work the program, or, you can download GMPU (Garry's Mod Publishing Utility) which basically does the job for you.
You need java for it though, so make sure you have that.

By running it in the prompt, I obviously mean using the run-command.
What makes GMPU way easier is it does the job for you and all you need to do is tell GMPU, upon the first time you launch it, where the executable is, and then, what folder you want to upload/make a .gma out of.

Thank you for explaining. I think I've got it figured out now.
