Can't Join Any servers

I can't seem to join any Gmod servers at all. It just says It failed after 6 retries. I can load up the server menu and see all available servers but it refuses to connect to any of them. Anyone have any reasons for this or how I could fix it. I've allowed it through my Firewall in both Avg and control panel and allowed them to use all ports.

Im having the exact same issue. Was working fine the last time I played a few weeks ago. Came today and nothing. Tried running with firewall/antivirus disabled, and have tried on totally different networks. Have also verified the game files in Steam...

Connecting to games just gives the "connecting to server", followed by the "connection failed after 6 retries".

Any clues? TY

Basicly I boot up the game aas normal I go to the online game menu and then try to join a game. I check that I'm able to ping the server. If the ping is succesful I then attempt to join the server. It reaches two loading bars and then stops. Later it then comes up with failed after 6 retries. I've tried it on a numerous servers and it just wont connect.

the loading screen has a load bar at the bottom to showhow far it's gotten. it stops at two bars.

when the game is loading in the bottom right had corner there is a gray rectangle with a cancel button next to it. This then has white bars which show the progress it's made while you join a game. This reaches two white bars and says connecting to server above it. Then it says "connection failed after 6 retries".

I tried rebooting my internet, reinstalling addons and reinstalling Gmod. Nothing works, it might be a server error that will be fixed later this day. For now you will have to wait it out, it might work later.

It's definitely something to do with your firewall, completely disable your AVG firewall and your Windows firewall. Are you on a school network or a home network? Does this problem change if you use a VPN?

Same my game was just fine at first thought cause it was a little glitch then it was with other server's honestly I thought cause of the new steam update but I don't know no more but I hope I can play again to troll some people.

Idk i fixed it by making it chrome beta, unmaking the chrome beta, then running as administrator
