test chamber 19 GLITCHED

After i get past the fire in test chamber 19, the first door i come up to doesnt open and ive watched walkthroughs and it is supposed to open. Any suggestions?

If it doesnt open go on youtube and type in 'how to cheat at portal' that should help you (later when youve done that and got the cheats thing up on portal, type in sv_cheats 1 and then noclip
that allows you to pass through walls! good luck!

That door is not supposed to open. Turn back the way you came from and look up. There is an area up there above the tunnel you came from. That is where you need to go.

no i mean after i get past the fire and up there and up those stairs THAT door doesnt open

Press the action key (the one you use to pick things up, e by default) while facing the door. Some won't open, particularly those with keypads, but some will.
