Challenge wrongly flagged as cheated

Does anyone know why a challenge will be flagged as cheated, and also how to reset it.

I was busy with the challenges and got a cheating message after completing the least amount of portals used. I was too slow in the time event, then I got silver in the least amount of steps taken, but when I completed 1 under the limit for the least amount of portals used it was flagged as cheating. I don't know what I did, I'm sure I didn't cheat. I did jump from the last button platform to the door leading to the exit, but surely that can't be it. The only thing I can think of was loading a save from the previous time I played it. It can't be quick saving/loading because the least amount of steps challenge it didn't flag it then.

Any help on this one please.

One question to clear things up: Did you use console commands? The answer should eliminate that option, depending on what answer is given.

No I didn't. The only thing that I could have done is loading a quick save. I haven't even opened the console at all.

Did you have sv_cheats on?

Is sv_cheats on by default? I haven't even attempted to use the console (if I'm assuming that's where sv_cheats used). Is there any way to use cheats without console? If I think about the mods we ran in halflife back in the day we could run files via the console, but I only played the game as is.

Valve Anti-Cheat sometimes messes up. Maybe it's a bug.

Playing in Developer Commentary mode actually enables cheats.
To ensure commentary mode (and cheats) are disabled before playing challenges, you can start a New Game in normal story mode and then start the challenge via Bonus Maps. Avoid loading any saved games where cheats might have been enabled when you saved.

Cool, thanks a lot! Haven't played in a while, but if I remember correctly it was fixed, possibly with a patch or after restarting challenges. Will investigate when I install again :)

If you are completing a challenge map with developer notes, the challenge maps will flag you as "cheated".
