Portal has GREAT commintary and really fun gameplay. Insted of mindless killing, like most games, Portal has you use your mind to solve puzzles.
1: The game is short and I finished it in only 2 hours and a half.
2: Sure, it's stradegy and it CAN be difficult, but of course the levels are short.
3: Single player. Not that much fun when you can't do anything else.
The only reason why I finished it in that much time is only because I did the levels good, stuff like that. But I'd really suggest getting Portal 2. It's actually multiplayer and I'm sure it has more stuff like levels, why do you think it costs more? I spent five bucks on Portal but now I regret it because how short it was, and the other reasons I gave. Though be lucky it just costs half of what I bought, if you get it. Portal is probably worth $2.50 and NOT ten.
Though Portal 2 might not work, I really still don't suggest getting Portal because you may get bored easily after a few hours. Not really worth buying unless you don't care about your money. If the deal ends and you were to late to buy it during the deal, DON'T buy it. Just wait until it costs less again.
It's true though, the last four levels are the best. And some of the advanced levels are unbelievably difficult (the advanced turret level HOLY CRAP). Plus, you can download map packs.
The game is great when you jus need to turn on your brain, because it's a puzzle game. You can use the console to see what makes the game, use HL2 weapons and just plain have fun.
