Portal for macOS
Dear developers, please update your game for macOS (64-bit versions) in the future. The market share of Mac players is increasing more and more. So it's about time!

To all passionate Mac players and allies: Please comment so that it gets more attention.

you can beg all you want, but Valve has made it clear they're never gonna update any old game unless it's for security and maintenance. they've also made it clear that they could care less about Apple Silicon

do you understand how little the number of people who play steam on mac is?
you are a percent of a percent.
valve is not updating a game that is 13 years old to suit the infinitesimal percentage of people who play on a mac.
run an emulator.

Thanks for commenting. Can you give me the sources and statement from Valve?

Bootcamp can only be used for Macs with Intel processors. Macs with Apple Silicon processors (M1-M3 - Pro, Max, Ultra) do not support Bootcamp. At least not with an extremely workaround.

they still haven't given up and started using processors that work with just about everything?

hello, i am a macbook intel user, boot camping would cost me a lot of money too (around 1.1K) as i would also need a windows license.

Ive just noticed that only 32 bit valve developed games never launch on my mac but other 32 bit games like Goat Simulator and Geometry Dash launch just fine as 32 bit apps.
Edit: one more in my library, Tattletail also launches perfectly fine as a 32 bit.

I definitively agree, and I also posted about the sae thing a few months ago. There was one comment that said it's possible to build a 64 bit version yourself for Portal. You can find the reply in my post at https://steamcommunity.com/app/400/discussions/0/4347732779397285501/

I agree wholeheartedly and also posted about the same thing previously. If i remember correctly, someone posted a way to recompile it yourself for 64-bit compatibility. It seemed pretty straightforward, albeit I haven't tried to do it myself yet. Will try to find the link / description and post it here
