Invert Y axis on controller?

So, this doesn't work when I enable it. I even tried shutting the game down and turning it back on, and nothing. Works in Portal 2, though.

I read that you can type joy_inverty "1" in console, but. I don't know where that (console) is located.

Any help?

Found out how to do console commands, but. Still not working for me. Kind of ridiculous that this is an issue.

Got it.

In Steam I went to 'Portal' in my game library, right click, manage, controller layout, selected the controller thing (first option) select recommended, then chose the official layout, scrolled down and toggled invert y axis. Then simply back out.
