I suspect ray tracing will ultimately go the same way as PhysX.

Considering PhysX is still being used by games, Metro Exodus being the latest I remember having it and I suspect they didn't tear it out of the upcoming Witcher 3 next gen either.
So.. you suspect it will become a permanent fixture in graphics?
