Using a DualShock (PS4) controller in Portal 2?

No idea why, but the game won't recognise the controller. It's plugged into my PC, and it can navigate the menu's on big picture mode just fine, but when I open the game I can only use the mouse and keyboard. Help please?

Have you tried unplugging the mouse and they keyboard and using the touchpad on your controller to start portal 2?
Worked for me on a couple games.

I wouldn't recommend using a PS4 controller, it's much easier to use a keyboard and mouse, I mean Portal 2 is on the PS Store isn't it?

Not for PS4. @JossDarkwater You need motion joy to configure the pc to recongonize the controller has a "xbox" controller, since thats what most things support without software. Beware, MOTION JOY causes issues in other games. Someone had motion joy installed and ran stanley parable, their kept turning/looking left and spinning (kinda like if you type +left in console)

It is, but it was on sale for less money here last week
