Does Portal 1 make you more motion sick?
I didn't used to have the issue as much, but have developed conditions that seem to give me motion sickness from some games I played before. Portal 1 sets this off way more than portal 2 despite the base gameplay being similar. In my opinion it appears that Valve actually took motion sickness into account more than just removing the debated adhesion gel, and movement between portals clearly snaps your camera quite a lot more quickly and naturally to the ground. Anyone else feel this way?

Have you experienced motion sickness from other games? VR? If you haven't then that would explain why.

I actually don't prefer it here. Yeah it helps to set it at 90 rather than 75, but anything higher is strange and it wouldn't alleviate the issue. Portal 2 doesn't give me this problem in as many situations at the same fov I play 1.

vsync was on, I actually usually tried to turn it off in games but haven't bothered for a while. My GSYNC settings are supposed to override game vsync. Motion blur is always an off for me, didn't notice it on and it was not. The main issue really does seem to me just how quickly the camera adapts to your actions, and I'd have to assume only a mod could fix that. Or a lot of console commands.

"camera adapts to your actions?"

you mean mouse sensitivity? you can adjust that

Found the guy who killed adhesion gel. You should be ashamed.
If it was in portal 1 I'd probably get close to throwing up, in 2 it would have actually have been a welcome addition, were it to find space to fit among all the other additions. But I can see these days why they would not have had it. Taking things out because of a few testers reactions is why we didn't end up getting F-stop too.

Adhesion gel was something considered in development, an additional gel that would have allowed you to stick to walls. Testers complained about getting motion sickness from it so it was axed. Wasn't ever in release portal 2.

That's odd. I wonder how it actually worked.

I'm wondering why that would give you motion sickness
