Can someone explain to me why the cake is a lie?
So why exactly IS the cake a lie? It only takes about an hour or 2 to bake really and its not that hard to get the ingredients.

Because of Ratman's wall messages, on a wall (in 16 I think) you can find "The cake is a lie"

Well the thing is that at the very end of the game the cake is shown in the final cinematic before the credits but the cake is only for baiting the test subjects into finishing the puzzle rooms

It's because GLaDOS tried to trick you by luring you with free cake as long as you test for her >:D

You are promised by Glados that you will be rewarded with cake once you have completed all test. As you may already be aware, she tries to kill you. Throughout the game you can see hidden messages left behind from the rat man who tells you that the cake is a lie.

That cake doesn't seem really healthy, if the recipee of the cake core is what's in that cake, stay away from it.
