What if gladDos was the one who employed the G-Man to destroy Black Mesa in HL1
I mean, she says that she has no idea what goes on on the surface, except that it is very dangerous. Assuming she was telling the truth, this could be the events of HL, because we know that before gladDos was activated, Black Mesa was still functional and dominating the science world. However, we know that there was at least a 5-10 year pause in testing because in Portal 2, you see that Chell came to the facility because of bring your daughter to work day (because of the menacing potato plant) , meaning, she is not an adult, but by portal she is an adult. And at the end of Portal, gladDos states that Chell could not get help from Black Mesa, alluding to the fact that the facility was destroyed. So, by the end of Portal, Black Mesa was destoyed, but before gladDos was alive, it wasn't. But, gladDos appears to have no contact to the surface, unless she as met the G-Man, the man who destroys Black Mesa in HL1 . What if along with some other beings, G-Man was set to destroy Black Mesa, bring the Combine to Earth, and recuit Morgan Freeman. And one of his employers was gladDos?
(Idk alot about the HL side, but I tried) Because gladDos knows that Black Mesa was destroyed, despite not knowing the events on the surface. (I probably just over-analysed some very simple easter eggs to HL. So I am not really serious.)

What would GLaDOS have to gain by destroying Black Mesa and bringing the Combine to Earth other than losing Aperture's direct competitor? This seems a little far fetched and conspiratorial if you ask me.

Im saying she only wanted to destory Black Mesa, so she could produce the products that Aperture was making before so she could fund her testing still, and get more money to repair the facility. I mean, if Aperture was being screwed by Black Mesa, and were broke according to Portal 2's PTI, they would need money. And the G-Man said he had Employers meaning more than 1. Yet it is somewhat far fetched and conspirational, your right.

Oh yeah your right, gladdos doesn't need money because she produces everything herself.

I think you have the wrong Freeman in there...

Well remember that Glados was Caroline, Cave Johnsons assistant and he had a deep hatred for Black Mesa. Glados was subconsciously responding to Cave from the intercoms from Portal 2 so maybe she thinks (or subconsciously thinks) that Cave will be pleased with her if she destroys it. I don't know how she would be able to contact Gman but the Promo videos from Portal 2 in the bottom left corner say copyright 1998. So the Internet would be around when Caroline became Glados. idk. Also Gman bringing the Combine to earth must have been on his accord because she had no intention to that (unless she wants revenge on all humanity (eg: deadly neurotoxin)).

It seems to me that GLaDOS has no grudge against humanity, just any human at Aperture, particularly the scientists who created her (and put Caroline's brain in the machine) in the first place, and Chell for killing her in the first game. I just don't see the benefit of a complete human extinction by the Combine if she were to be part of it. Besides, Gman seems to be extradimentional, so him having employers that are above him pulling the strings of the Combine invasion of Earth for their own gain seems most likely as opposed to Gman being hired by a sentient, power mad AI bent on revenge against humanity.

As I said, the only thing that GLaDOS could gain by causing the resonance cascade is the loss of Aperture's competitor, Black Mesa. The problem is, though that she manufactures everything herself, and doesn't have any government to fund her projects (unless you mean to tell me she's being paid by the Combine).
