I know
Thanks. When I get super angry at technology I throw a fit & end up breaking the technology that made me mad :( It's not a good thing.
I broke my family laptop, two phones (second one by accident), that glass thing below the room light, video game controller, computer mouse, and my printer...
Yeah, I had rages too. I broken expensive headphones :( I don't know what else I broke, but I broken a lot of things when I'm angry. I just can't remember right now, what else I broken in rage.
And also I broke several headphones, most of them by pulling it too hard from my ears rather than anger. They were all but two or three were from the dollar store or from airplanes (and airplane food sucks too!). The others were included with the cellphones but they were mediocre brands like LG and Nokia. Honestly, people like us should learn anger management so we don't break these things and regret it afterwards.
The headphones I broken in rage were awesome. They fit perfectly, they canceled out sound from the outside. I forgot why I gotten angry, I threw them down in a rage. :( I broken one of the ear phones, it couldn't get reattached, it dangled. ;n; When I saw that I immediately cried hard over it. They were very expensive. I broken them cause I was angry. And now they are forever gone. I broken my cell phones over years, because I'm a clutz. So I'd end up dropping them & the screen would be cracked to not use. I broken ear buds by blowing them out :p I love my music loud, so I killed a lot of ear buds. But you're right, we should get some anger management for those moments. ;n; It's no fun being angry & less fun to mourn the loss of technology we've broken.
Yeah as a result of my phone breaking twice, my grades and social life dropped from withdrawal symptoms. But now I have moved on and developed strategies to prevent that from happening again or otherwise my university will kick me out for a low GPA. Here's an excellent advice, if you get pissed off, immediately put down the device that's angering you and then leave the room and do something else or calm down.
I'm so sorry for you. I hope you can stay at your university. That's great advice. :) I'll do that next time I get angry at technology :D But with me having a PC I don't think I could rage & break my computer tower. If anything, I'll find a small, easy pickable technology and break it. I think my tower is too heavy for me to rage break it. So I might break anything part of my computer, but I hope I'll be able to control myself to not to that.
Anyways, do you know how to reinstall Portal?
Is it a problem that I access this same account from my laptop too? That's where I first played Portal before I got my gaming PC. So is that messing with Steam?
I didn't burn it onto a disc. I have it on Steam. I can't play Portal :( I wanna but it won't launch a new game for me. I was told to reinstall it, but I don't know how. I'm very dumb when it comes to this kinda technology stuff. :( I don't know how to contact Steam itself. :(
To do that, I believe you have to go to your library, and then right click on the corrupted game and select properties. Then you should choose verify game cache in one of the tabs in the window that pops up. After a few minutes, Steam will have scanned your PC for the game's files and compared it to the ones in their servers. If your files lack any or are outdated or corrupted, Steam will automatically reinstall new files for you.
Update: My memory is bad and just checked what to really do. The tab you go to after selecting properties is "local files". Then from the many options select "verify integrity of cache files" or something like that (see, forgot again lol). It will take several minutes and should help you as I've checked the Steam forums and many users claim that verifying game cache is the first and best solution to fix problems with their games.
