If cuthulu and Azathoth are gods can they do this..

if they are basically cosmic entities and whatever, can't they just change how their bodies look e.t.c? Not how they are preserved by people but physically and actually change how they are?

Like can't azathoth turn for example into a cow? or a human? can't cuthulu do that??

Why do they have too be this weird massive life forms that look like giant messed up inbred aliens that have deformities!

I mean Jesus Christ, if you have the ability to universally warp around and whatever probably manipulation, surely you can do this crap!

Cthulhu is not a god though, it's just a creature from another world. Azathoth on the other hand might be, it is called an Outer God, but I suspect it's The Great Old Ones who gave it that title. In their lore it probably is, but that doesn't mean it is. I think Azathoth is some kind of interdimensional being, very powerful, but still just another form of creature.

Oh, so they aren't like; "Dr Manhatten, God, Loki, Proteous, Beyonder" and many other beings.

I think that's right. Lovecraft's monsters are just big ugly creatures, from other worlds and other dimensions, who've found a way into our world. I don't think there's any godliness involved, more like creeping horror or invasion. The guy was brilliant but he was a little weird, he probably had nightmares about 'the thing under the bed'.

You are asking he wrong Question. It is not "can they?" it is "Why should they?". The entire point in the lovecraftian Lore is the depiction of powers, humanity can never understand or even imagine.

If you really want to find a reason for their looks, you may go with this: It is just the form, your brain gives to something, that your eyes can see, but your mind can not fathom. If these creatures were explainable by any sort of human logic, it would completely miss the central point of their existence.

To them, humans are of absolutely no importance. Just thinking, chuthulhu would like to look like a human beeing, would be as trying to imagine a Human beeing, who wants to look like a jellyfish.

Azathoth is a seething nuclear chaos in the centre of the universe, the other 'gods' circle it and try to keep it calm lest it destroy all creation. What you perceive as Azathoth is just a fragment seen between dimensions and that would be enough to cause madness and suicide. Cthulhu just is. Why would something so immense and all powerful want to be seen as anything other than itself? Lovecraft saw that to perceive these beings, to look upon a god, would be too much for us to comprehend, too much to process, and that in itself would surely drive us mad. The Outer gods and the great old ones are forces of nature, or anti-nature, most of which have no personality or sense of self like we do. They just are, and by their nature they hate everything that isn't chaos or destruction. We are specks of light to be corrupted and snuffed out. Only one of Lovecrafts 'gods' was credited with a personality and that is Nyarlathotep, he with a thousand faces, the crawling chaos, and all it desires is to drive the world mad so that our torment will wake Cthulhu.
I love Lovecraft, odd little man that he was.

Wrong. In the Mythos Azathoth is the creator of all things. Everything in existence is merely part of its dreaming. Its power is so all encompassing that if it ever wakes from its timeless slumber, all of existence will be destroyed.

The Outer Gods were always conceived to be beyond the scope of human understanding. Cthulu is a world-ending entity, and he's an Old One, akin to a demi-god.

Lol this post is completely missing the point. I know it's trendy an-all for people to be seen as being "into lovecraft" but the whole point is that we aren't supposed to see what the aliens really look like.
