"INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED FOR GAME ACTIVATION"
And what does that actually mean?
We need an Internet connection to buy and download this game in the first place. Whats the system behind that activation?

Hello,

It's the standard requirement of all Steam games. You need an internet connection to activate a Steam key and download the game and its latest updates.

Once the game installed, you don't need any connection to play it.

It's not Denuvo or any other alternative system. Simply the standard Steam requirements.

Have a nice day

Trolling? I'm curious as to the answer of this topic too.

Me three.

I'm thinking that's boilerplate for physical media. Steam users can safely ignore.

It's called Steam.

Then why doesn't any other game without other additonal DRM-system state that?

Edit: For example Vampyr, also published by Focus, doesn't have this requirement mentioned. So there good reason to expect this has something to mean.

Maybe it means there will be denuvo in it? I don't know, since it the only thing I know that requires internet on first time launch..
Oz Gaming Oct 20, 2018 @ 10:51pm
I'd say with a stipulation like that the game has Denuvo.

Well its a possibility, I doubt it personally because Vampyr didn't have it, but you can never know

I do not think they will put Denuvo on the game. But who knows. only time will tell

Not wanting to fan any flames. I'm just curious about that notice. Past experiences did not make me a big fan of having additional layers of DRM in my games.

Informing customers about that kind of hurdles is a matter of honesty and I'm glad they did... I'd still like to know why before commiting to my purchase, though.

But not talking about after giving an unclear information is certainly not honesty.

You do realise every Cyanide Studio game has this "INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED FOR GAME ACTIVATION" tag and that none of them use Denuvo or any other DRM other than Steam, right?
Primal Fear Oct 29, 2018 @ 2:42pm
Vampyr doesn't
King in Yellow Oct 29, 2018 @ 2:43pm
Vampyr was developped by DONTNOD, not Cyanide.
