Pretty much all games with "Ironman" modes (which do not allow you to save) and are using one autosave as the only for your game do "Save on Exit".
Even Checkpoints I could live with - but this game uses system where the game also saves sometimes when you do something. And this is the main problem I have with it.
Pulling lever does save, trying to pick lock saves, reading book does not, picking up item does not - does not make sense.
I would be perfectly happy with saving on checkpoints and all these occasions with option to restart whole mission.
Inconsistency and no way how to track what you have to do again after rollback killed it for me.
