Switch to stealth gameplay

Good day everyone.
I bought this game thinking it was mainly an adventure game focusing on investigation and such. Now, I am currently in the asylum, having to play hide and seek with guards. I've read about other section of the game like this, so I am wondering : Is the dialogue / Investigation part of the game only consist of the first 30 min, while the rest of the game is more stealth / dungeon crawling oriented ?
I'm starting to feel a weird vibe playing the game, like it's not what I expected at all (Although I LOVE the atmosphere and setting).

The investigating aspect of the gameplay becomes less present the further you progress, but it's still there

Yes, it turns more and more into "stealth / dungeon crawling" and even action/hide and seek. But with fair checkpoints, overall.

It comes back and forth, but I wouln't call this a stealth game at all, just have its moments (and this comes from someone who loves stealth games). Investigation, intrigue, and a bit of stealth and action. All in all, a good mix.

I agree, "shadowlurker" is right. For sure, it isn't a stealth game.

There are two stealth sections in the Asylum, but that's basically it. After these segments, simply running from the enemy is enough.

Yeah, unfortunately the game does add on stealth elements, but after the asylum you at least have a chance to either fight or flee as well.

I am stuck in the asylum and I am about to abandon this game due to the stealth part. There is one guy permanently standing beside the place where the last wheel is (and I assume the pills as well). I am so sick and tired of repeating this section all over again. Too bad this part only shows later in the game as now it's too late to refund. :(

Same here. I am about ready to quit the game. I get the sleeping pills, but get caught EVERY dam time i try to leave the room.

I keep getting caught every time i obtain the sleeping pills. I don't have the patience to continue the game as much as i enjoyed the first 4 chapters.

Go to Guides, watch Klutsknapp's Speed running video, Chapter 5. I did so and finally made it to the exit doors. I had to try about 7-8 times. It is all about timing. He did not do the sleeping pill part. Only the electrical switch thing. I ended up ignoring the guy in the cell and found the gas valve wheel and turned all 3 gas valves up to max, then did the electrical switches and made it out.

Thanks for the info, but I'm not sure whether I will do this. I think I tried already two dozen times and I am sick and tired of it, it was no more fun only frustration. They should have put this type of gameplay at the very first chapter so people enjoying this would continue and others could refund as it is not the detective game with a dark tune they expected. Right now I really don't want to sit down and watch a video to see how I might pass this damn annoying part after having to force myself to do another maybe 7-8 frustrating tries.
