Lockpicking sucks
I mean, why even implementing the skill, when its useless all the time. I even spent an awful lot of CP to upgrade the skill and every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lock is too hard. So thanks for wasting my skillpoints and make the game even more boring than it already is.

Lock picking is the worst skill. Psych, spot hidden and strength are the ones that are best

Finding the alternate pathways

The thing is, you don't need it. But there are crates and rooms full with information and you're just unable to reach them. You can finish the game without, but it would be nice if there is a lockpicking skill, that you can actually use it.

This is inspired by pen and paper rpg, you're doing a roll each time you pick a lock to know if you will unlock it or not. Unless you have 100% in the skill.

It is Pen and Paper RPG style skil check? It is not a gameplay mecahnic where you play a mini-game to pick a lock. Just a simple dice roll. What a f.r.t. player.

Yeah nice, but when I want to play a pen and paper game, I will play one. This is pc game, and when they give me a skilltree, than it should work. Otherwise they need to tell me how it works, so I can decide if I want to invest points in a skill, that still doesn't work as it should be.

It works as it should be. You invest into Investigation up to max 5 Points and you will always unlock all locks. The end. I guess you never played Horror Detective game.

Sorry but that's BS because you encounter your first locked door in the first 10 minutes of the game. So how will you upgrade max level when you acutally cannot get that much points?

... HS Are you that le stupidos amigos?
Do I need to explain how skill checks work and the basic logic behind them? If you have enough of Skill points and high enough percentage (in game form) you will always succeed.
Also you could invest all starter points into Investigation skill.
God, modern gamers can`t use their brains for shiz besides memeing and quickscoping.

It's a check, there is a chance you get it and a chance you don't. Skills checks have been in rpgs since the dawn of time and always worked like this, I really don't understand why you can't wrap your mind around it.

Cause it is much harder to comprehend than pointing a crosshair on some ones head and pushing RMB.

Its just sad that you have only one try at most doors and the game even saves after a failure.
I managed to trick the guards at the warehouse but failed to open the door so i own cat a favor now (bad feeling about this).
There was no way to try open the door again and the only savegame was overwriten, i dont know if i should like this system or hate:)
From what i have seen so far the save system at this game could cause a lot frustration.

What bothers me about the lockpicking is that, if you find a lock you can't pick, put some points into lockpicking, and then try again, you can't even interact with the lock. :/

I feel the same about the saving.
I invested in Spot Hidden, psychology, and Investigation at the start. Opening the grate was a snap (I was lucky in attaching things in the correct order, I'm guessing) and had no dealings with Cat until later.
Someone else posted about elements in the harbor that I completely overlooked, but since the plot jumped to the mansion through a cutscene, I feel slightly "cheated" for not knowing when it was safe to explore without ramping the plot forward.

Reading that there are entire sections of gameplay I missed out on means forced replay of the entire game, I guess.

I had a bad feeling about the way through the sewers.
There was a encounter with a monster which was giving a malus to my sanity, i think its better to avoid this.
The optimal way would maybe be to trick the guards and have luck with lockpicking the door (hard to handle:)
