An error occurred (Demo)

"An error occurred
An unexpected error occurred while retrieving information from Steam"

This shows up in Steam VR. And that's it, nothing more to do except go back.

Been meaning to get back to VR and try this but haven't done so until now. I got the Oculus Quest. I just re-installed it (the PC Oculus stuff) after quite a while of not using it.

The only thing I have tried so far is switching the openXR runtime from Oculus to Steam (in SteamVR settings), but it didn't make a difference. I have no idea if it's relevant, it was just something I tried.

Using Oculus Link via cable atm, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

It works otherwise, Half Life Alyx works great and some other titles I tried.

Hi! I missed your post. The demo was removed from the store on April 11th which is why you would have received that error. In just one hop-skip-and-a-jump the full version will be out very soon :)

Ah ok. No problem. That explains that. I wish the demo was still active though.

Btw, I see the demo takes ~30GB space. Is there any point in keeping this if (when) I get the game, or will it be re-downloaded? (Guess I'll know soon enough).

Much smaller for the full game! We've done a lot of work on performance so it should be downloading closer to 13GB now
