Can't type Spanish words

I'm learning Spanish and figured that this game would be a really fun way to practice, so I've been trying to switch my game to Spanish. The only problem is, though, that I can't type any special Spanish characters (á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ), and I've tried everything I can think of -- switching my computer's keyboard to Spanish, trying the various keyboard layouts offered by the game, and even trying to mod my keyboard layout (Excel couldn't successfully generate the modded file).

I've gathered that there's an issue with entering letters that require pressing two or more keys, but I can't find any keyboard that produces the letters I need with a single key press. I assume that it must be possible to play the game in Spanish, though, since the option is available. Is there any way that I can type accented letters in a way the game will accept? I really enjoyed playing this game in English and would love to play it again in a new language. If it helps, I use a 2015 MacBook Pro and run OS Sierra 10.12.5.

I happen to have the same issue, no matter what settings I choose: word still come in Spanish and I'm unable to play. I've played only 18 minutes!

he logrado obviar el problema, es molestoso, pero funciona: tienes que salir al menú principal y luego volver al juego, las palabras cambiarán. Si te enfrentas a una criatura, tendrás que morir para volver a enfrentarlas :) espero que te ayude.
