Mastertype?

I just discovered this game and it piqued my curiosity. I watched a short video about it, and it seems kinda like Mastertype... a typing tutor game from back in the 80's. Anyone else remember that game? I had it on the Commodore 64. I couldn't find a good video of the C64 version, but here's the Atari version.

After watching a bit more of a second video, I realize there's a lot more. There was one area in the first video I watched that reminded me of Mastertype... with the monsters coming at you from all around while you're in the center of the screen. I realize now that the game is a lot more varied!

Yes, Epistory is an adventure game (a little bit like Zelda) with a typing mechanic.

Not like typing of the dead neither. In Epistory you really control your character :)

But do you fail if you're not fast or accurate enough?

It isn't too picky about accuracy, so long as you've typed the first 3 letters in it sort of locks in that word and you can definitely have a fair few errors. It will only advance the amount of the word completed when you happen to hit the next correct letter.

You can definitely fail if you're not fast enough though. If a monster reaches you, you'll die. But there isn't much of a penalty for dying. It's more annoying than anything else!

I belive there is a demo for the game that you can DL now, so maybe that is the best way to answer your questions about the game.
