Deselect + Free Transform?

I recently upgraded from OC6 to 7 and now I miss the "Deselect"- and "Free Transform"-button you could find at the upper taskbar in OC6. It's actually quite annoying to use the drop down menu (Select > Deselect; Select > Free Transform) ....and now my question is: are there still buttons for these two, or am I just blind?
(Also note that I work on a tablet and can't use shortcuts.)


Second thing is about "Free Transform":

I usually select parts of my picture with "Select Lasso" and use "Free Transform" zu change size or flip the selected part. This isn't possible anymore......
Right now I'm only able to change properties of the selected space, but not lines *within*...the stuff I actually selected and wanted to resize or flip.
Is this some kind of bug or do I again have to click something beforehand to be able to free transform any selected part of my drawing?

For Deselect, just hit Ctrl+D.

As for your issue with Free Transform, I dunno, been working pretty much the same way for me. You sure you got the right layer selected?

As said...I can't use shortcuts, but thanks for the Free Transform button - with it Free Transform now also finally works :)
