ok I have played this game for several hrs. and each time I get near the end of chapter three in the elevator, it won't go all the way down and it won't let me off the elevator so that I can continue the game. I have restarted it twice now and still the same thing, stuck in the elevator. Can anyone give me any help on this please as I would really like to finish. I collected everything and did everything as it instruckted so far and still it won`t let me get foo to go forward in the game. help!

I was caught out by this one, and facepalmed when I worked it out. When the elevator goes down you have to go backwards to exit (cursor changes at the bottom of the playable area). Hope this helps!

but my elevator doesn't even make it all the way to the bottom so how does this work, and what do u mean by go backwards to exit? I'm fairly new at this stuff but I will try any help offered. thanks

I agree, the elevator doesn't --seem-- to reach the bottom; all it appears to do is go down until the scene you were looking at is gone (you can still see the wall through the doors). A caption should appear saying, "Now I can exit." Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen and, if it's the in-game cursor, it will change to indicate the direction you can travel - which is back into the room with the three face/furnace things.

It is possibly the most counter-intuitive scene in any game: you're looking at elevator doors with a panel beside them, like every elevator ever, but instead of going forward through the doors you have to exit backwards (admittedly, through the other doors, but you cant see them...!)
