Any way to fly faster on planets?
From what I have seen, the fastest I can go on a planet without bruning up is around 3200. Is there any way to go faster?

If you can max out your shields\energy cores then maybe; but you will still need to slow down to repair your shields after a few minutes.

The best thing to do is if you have to travel over the surface for a long ways, fly out of the atmosphere, then fly\warp closer to your target, and re-enter

Yeah the old dolphin dive method works well.

Flying along the planet at 4k is doable but hard on shields....though it can be pretty it's unbadass.

You can leave the atmosphere at 5k if you are careful,
then skim the surface at high speed / warp to where you'd like to go,
Begin re-entry or set a nav point at your current location(there's a button in the nav menu that does this for you, easy peesy) (above in orbit where you want to go), turn on inertial, set your ids to x 9, full throttle with no afterburner (you are still in inertial so NOTHING should be happening) aim toward the planet 90 degrees down and warp (BE SURE you are higher than just skimming the atmosphere before you do, gain altitude as you travel).

This allows you to scream into the atmosphere at about 10000 depending on your engine with no fuel use....... if you know how to slow down properly (with intertial on, make your ships bottom level with the horizon as you fall) you won't die, and is a badass way of getting down to the surface incredibly fast.

I always love doing that, even if I do accidentally blow up half the time. I suppose that's half the fun. The other fun one is to see just how deep into a gas giant or star's gravity well you can fall and still escape. This one is actually useful, as you may need to do this to use the jumpgate in Sol's corona.
