Which are the mode cap settings. The default '0' value will allow each hand controller to toggle through all flight control modes (Off > Joystick > Throttle). A value of '1' will toggle only to the joystick mode and a value of '2' will toggle only to the throttle mode. So for example, you can set the first 'R' value line to 1 to toggle only to the joystick mode and the second 'L' value line to 2 to toggle only to the throttle.
You can use the cockpit viewing program at the same link to view changes in advance before copying the files over to import them into the game.
Also, when I verify the game on this site, it puts the 'vrsetup-bak' back into the media file along with the 'vrsetup.txt' still there, I have attempted loading the game both ways (with and without said file) and my hand controllers still keep the default "0" value even though I've changed the configuration in the folder to: ContRMdCap=1 & ContLMdCap=2 What am I doing wrong? should I keep the ' marks? Is there something I need to do in Evochron joystick settings when I load the game before I launch? I also use 'Voice attack' and load the game via 'Virtual Desktop' could they be interfering in some way? I am editing and saving the changes to the media file on notepad on my PC. Thanks for taking the time to review my request.
The first step I'd recommend is to just make sure you didn't accidently add another '.txt' extension to the filename so that it wound up with the name 'vrsetup.txt.txt' or something. An accidental double extension can be a common cause of a file not being found/loaded. No need to keep the ' marks, just the text inside. If it still doesn't enable, please send me a copy of the file you are using (starwraith.com > contact) and I can check it out to see if there's something else that may be causing it.
As for the HUD modification, since those elements are part of a single image as a whole, they can't be modified as individual components from within the game itself. As a result, the only practical modification option is editing the actual image, but that also provides the widest range of possible customizing options. So it's worth placing the file and then editing as it provides pixel-by-pixel control over how you may want that part of the HUD to look.
