File Operation Error
I have been playing Evochron Legacy for a couple of months now, a few days ago when I started the game it just sat there for a few minutes with the swirly loading circle, I then got a error screen File Operation Error, in the box it said Decryption Error with 80 to 100 or so numbers. I have unintalled and reinstalled the game a couple of times and it still comes up with the same thing. My other Steam games are not affected.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this.

That indicates direct file damage to one or more of the game's save/data files, usually caused by something interrupting/blocking the game during a read/write operation. First, verify the game's file integrity in Steam (right click on the game in your library, click on 'Properties', click on the 'Local Files' tab, click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' button). If that doesn't solve the issue, then contact me via e-mail ( starwraith.com > contact) with a screenshot of the error and I can provide specific guidance on sorting it out.

Thank you for responding, The Verify Integrity on the game came out as validated, I have emailed you the information to review.

Thank you..

Received, thanks. I've sent some instructions on fixing the issue with the specific file that was damaged.

If you'll do the same and send me a screenshot of the error ( starwraith.com > contact ), I can pin down which file is involved and provide steps to fix it. As mentioned above, file damage like this is usually caused by something else running on the system that interferes with the game's read/write operations of its own save/setting data files. For example, a running security program or other software might decide to perform a scan or update in the middle of a read/write operation, blocking the game from accessing a needed file in the middle of such an operation and potentially causing file damage. If the damage is severe enough, it may not be recoverable or repairable and the game will need to rebuild the file entirely.
