I'll start putting some cycles into a Linux distribution. I'm a huge fan of Linux, and really want to see this get here. I've been watching on the backend as Epic Games keeps adding Linux support. It's not going to be as buggy as a Gentoo stage 1 build, but it's probably going to have more bugs than normal.

Hey, your game looks amazing. I just bought it on the sale. I haven't tried it on wine or on my (seldomly used) windows partition, but I got it in good faith waiting for the port (also, 88% off).

I hope the project moves on, and that the port will come some time in the future.

ok, so there's a linux icon showing on the store page and steamdb says there's around 8gb of content for linux... but there's nothing downloaded after buying!!!! nothing to play or try... so what's it all about? or is my steam client broken? or do i have to choose some beta tree?

Nah mate, I have the same issue. The dev is working on it.

Nah mate, I have the same issue. The dev is working on it.

hmmmm.... ok... so hopefully something's happening soon, otherwise i'll do a refund before the 2 weeks are over, because there's no sense having a game without any content... but as long as even that's not working, the dev should remove the linux/steamos icon from the store....

Hey.

I just ran it in ubuntu, but just for a couple of mnutes. I still get a missing exec when launching from steam, but now I can launch it from the Epica.sh file.

I'll come back with an update as soon as I can test this more.

same problem here....

additionally: the game starts as a maximized window, not fullscreen.. so the mouse focus doesn't work right... to look around i need to keep left mouse button pressed... also for using menus! otherwise the cursor is stuck in the middle of the screen.... so much from trying the tutorial for a minute... right now, can't really use it...

Noted. I'll change the default graphics settings on the next patch. Thank you for the update on this.

As for the missing exec, I've redirected to the shell script instead of the direct binary file, which should fix it.

please, help. I have on linux (ubuntu 16.04) error when start game "execution file not found"

Sam Lowry, just right click on the game name in Steams library, navigate to "browse local files" and in that folger you'll find a *.sh file (Epica.sh if I'm correct) Then you can either open a terminal and type ./Epica.sh or do a chmod (to make the file executable and run from double clicking on it). It should run with no problems, even loging time to Steam.
