To anyone considering buying Clustertruck
Its a great game and I had a lot of fun beating all the levels, the only problem is I beat every single level in like 2 hours so i wouldn't recomend paying full price for the game. If it's on sale though then for sure buy it.

All you have to do is get double jump and time slow and it's easy to beat each level first try

I chose to do a no-abilities run first. I'm 10 hours in and I'm in the final world because I like to get top 500/100 in each map.

Took me about four hours the first time, and I consider myself well above average "skill," if the leaderboard times are anything to go by. Most people would probably take 6-8 hours I would think.

Did an ability run, then a no-ability normal run, then I've done a couple of runs since then just for fun with no abilities. Get within the top 100 on a lot of them for the leaderboards, and can break 500 much more easily. Getting better than 100 of course often involves essentially having very good luck on many levels (where trucks are placed perfectly for good times), but still requires skill as well, and it's quite fun to go for higher scores.

You can come back to the game and still have fun, in other words. I have about 16 hours in it so far, and I have come back occasionally to play the seasonally themed levels.

But yes. The game is sparse in content. It doesn't take all that long to make a good level (I've messed with the editor a bit myself, and in about an hour got a level about half as long/exciting as the average one in this) - so it's disappointing. I mean, if I were good at making them and spent eight hours a day on that, I could probably make a ten mission pack every work week of good quality - minus the art assets obviously. So, ten weeks to make the game, except I don't have the art assets or the game programmed (as I said).

Actually polishing the levels and balancing them, plus finding ways to avoid exploits in vanilla (easy to exploit them with abilities and that's hard to avoid), probably would take at least as long as that. When the whole game feels like it has about as much content as one dude could make with the given assets in about two or three months, without any real game development experience, it can be a bit sad.

The game is great though. I would even be willing to pay for DLC with like, 100 more levels. Plus with a fixed ghost mode (it randomly turns off and I have to suicide and turn it back on for each level to see it, and it only shows my best time, can't filter by "vanilla only" or anything). Plus maybe more abilities or special trucks/more obstacles. This kind of fast-paced jumping to the end of the level game scratches an itch for me that practically no other game does, and it would be nice if it had more to it.

The only other one I can think of that I've gotten a similar feeling from is Boson X, which is also a good game for anyone who likes levels where you race through them quickly dodging things.

dlc is horrible (unless its free) cause thats what ruined star wars battlefront for me how you had to pay to get stuff and the dlc with the normal game would make the game have the content of a game

What? No.

This game already is released, and it's already either worth it or not worth it based on its current price and content to the individual person.

How exactly would paid DLC ruin a single-player game like this, in any way? You would still be able to enjoy the game fully that you paid for, and could simply pretend DLC had never been released. For those of us who want more content however, we would be willing to pay for more levels.

Considering that free DLC for this game is excruciatingly sparse (only for seasonal events so far, and even then barely), I would really love more levels. They can't simply afford to release massive amounts of free DLC, however.

Though they don't need simply new levels. They also need to expand upon the core gameplay (such as having more depth to the traps and such, and new abilities) in any DLC, and fix things like the inability to have a ghost for only your fastest "non ability" run. Or perhaps if they could make it possible to have ghosts to race against that are say, "100th best" or "1000th" best, so you aren't forced between the possibly cheated world's best time or your own best to race against.
