my english is not very good and maybe i express myself not perfectly but i just hope you get my point...
You can take World of Tanks, War Thunder, Hearthstone,...
Those are free to play, but all works the same. If you spend money, you progress faster, but you still can play totally free. That's the same for Business Tour.
But, many people in the leaderboard on tournament don't spend a $/€/£/... So yes, you can reach the top 100 in a tournament without spending money in Business Tour.
Also, don't forget that's because people will spend money on Business Tour (or any free to play game), that you can access free and never spend money in it.
In business tour, there is so many bugg that i will never spend money on it...and there is so many cheaters too... i saw numerous thing and lost a couple of game because of buggs...when a player get disconnected and replace by a bot, you lose your turn most of the time if you are the next player...it happenned to mee numerous times..not to mentionned the times that my avatar play by himslef without me rolling the dices..
..no way i will ever pay to be on top...this is not a progression game, like your avatr is getting stronger or something, there really should ber no difference in a tournament between people that spend money and people that dont...it is a challenge not a progression game...evene if they are the last in every game, if they spend money they will be on top anyways...loll..i thionk this is funny...so affraid to lose that they buy the top 3 ...lolll..
in a real tournament without any money spent, they would be last...
too bad...that was just my opinion, you do not have to agree but i know that these people in they top 3 have bought their spot...
But I do not agree that you put side by side a completely free to play game and a pay to play one.
Also, you compare access to tournament with car skins... Compare what you can compare.
If you want to compare skins, then let's compare Rocket League skins and Business Tour skins, shall we?!: You have to pay to get Rocket League skins, so can you in Business Tour. You don't get any advantage from skins in Rocket League, neither do you in Business Tour,...
But if you want to compare tournament tickets, compare them to poker tournament entries: If you have money, you can get to as many little tournaments you want, and climb up to bigger and bigger tournaments and finally maybe end up in a top tier tournament... If you do not have money, you can take part in freeroll games and hope to climb your way up. It is the same in Business Tour. Well, except than if you have really a lot of money, you can get to a top tier tournament of poker just by purchasing your seat.
In the end, you should only consider the tournaments as a bonus, not as the main part of the game.
Seems to be pretty similar, but the most important difference is that in Heartstone you can get gold by playing for free - you get 10 gold every 3 wins (up to 100 gold), you can get gold for daily quests and also for playing on arena. It means you can farm gold for few days and then play arena for free or you can farm the gold even longer, for let's say a month and then play more arena games in a row.
In BT however, there's simply no way to get gold for free. You can sometimes get it on tournament, but there's no way to get it, if the rest will just pay to be higher on leaderboard, leaving you with no way to earn place with gold rewards. If you would allow players to get some gold, not a big amount of it, just a little, then if someone would want to get some good place in tournament he could just farm for a month (or longer) to get enough gold for games. Most people would still prefer to buy some gold as it's not that expensive, but tournament mode would finally not be pay-to-win and it would just require a lot more time from people who don't pay.
You said "Those are free to play, but all works the same. If you spend money, you progress faster, but you still can play totally free." and it's just not true as there's absolutely no way to "progress" with getting gold, when you play for free.
That is indeed closer, but still not the same. I haven't played Hearthstone in a pretty long time, so apologies if I state something false, but I'll go as I remember it.
On Arena mode, you pay a certain amount of gold (you said 150), and you can win up to 15(?) games, unless you lose 3 times. So there is actually an endgame (win or lose), and you get rewards accordingly to the number of games you won.
The Ranked mode is pretty much closer to the tournament mode in Business Tour. During a season, you can level up (or level down) and you can get rewards if you level up from level 20 or get nothing if you are 25-20.
You can not compare gold in Hearthstone and gold in Business Tour since both are different currency.
Also, there is no real progression in Business Tour, it's like if you play the board game version of Monopoly, you all start at the same level, and each game is a new one. In Hearthstone, you progress by getting better cards that you can craft or get through boosters, boosters you'll have to purchase for gold or real money, giving you cards you can keep or turn into "dust" (forgot the name), dust you can use to craft cards,... Hearthstone is inciting you to spend a bit, even for a regular, non competitive game; while your investment in Business Tour should be well thought.
But let's say you could get gold (from different ways), farm it, and play it on tournament, on that case, people spending money will still get an advantage, because they could get as much gold as they would wish... But also, even if you save a lot of gold to spend on a tournament, winners will always be people whose will have time! If you play 2 hours a day during a tournament, you'll always end up loosing to people being able to play 10+ hours a day... Will that be fair for you?
