How do I get fullscreen?

Ok so basically I've tried every suggested solution. F4, changing properties to fullscreen, going into the file config and changing dpi scaling, Alt + Enter... Yet nothing seems to actually work. I can get a fullscreen mode but it's just as small of a screen as the windowed mode, the rest is a giant black border.
I know it's possible to get the game to fullscreen with only black borders on the side... I just don't know how. Anyone got any form of advice, or anyone who has the game fixed and can tell me how they did it? Much love, Adam

I also tried changing which version of windows the game should run on, Windows XP, Windows 7 etc.

It doesn't do fullscreen, I'm pretty sure. I think it's intentional.

At this point I would have agreed with you if it wasn't for the fact that like half a year ago I managed to get it into fullscreen (or rather scaled up and with black borders on the sides)

Press F1 When you get in game. You can change the settings from there.

idk, i mashed some buttons, i think when I pressed F1 at the beginning i got a menu and I checked the box "start with fullscreen" and then I restarted the game and it went into fullscreen. should note that I play on linux with unorthodox steamplay

im having the same problem its either windowed, really small or when in fullscreen the resolutions off, is there a way to get it fullscreen but with black borders?

I'm also trying to run this on Linux with SteamPlay, and full screen is creating this crazy awful window that's sort of cut off and has no title bar and isn't at all full screen.
