Brightness too low/everything is dark as hell
Is that a dx9 thing? Cause it's unusually dark.

You're correct, although I doubt whether it has anything to do with DirectX.

I just changed the Brightness setting, and it does improve mattters, although whether to your satisfaction might be another matter...

You can make it brighter, but then most textures look bad, like 16 bit color.

Yes. The game is way too dark :(

The original was much brighter. It had dark corners, not dark everything. It seems to be just the way the levels are lit.

Yes, one can raise the brightness in the options. Don't raise it too much though. Remember Deus Ex is meant to be dark.. though yes, Revision is too dark.

Looks normal to me. As in the game is made this way and thus having to use flash light and night vision.

This is by design yes, however we will consider tweaking the brightness a bit in the first level.

Can barely see the ground or objects, even with brightness maxed. Pitch black. Hope the tweak works.

Yeah, it's a choice between too dark and washed out.

However I've noteded a bug in some of the screenshots I've seen here that really makes it pitch black. Perhaps you could provide a screenshot so I can see what is going on?

That looks as intended to me. The first level is a bit dark in general and I guess that's a bit of personal taste. Overall levels, especially outdoor ones are darker then the original game to build more ambience and it is night after all.

That may be true, but on a practical note it makes maneuvering around and having a sense of direction almost impossible. It's pretty annoying, actually.

Not saying the entire game needs to be super duper lit up thus cancelling the need for the light aug, but at the very least it'd be great to see something other than pitch black.

VIK your two provided screenshots look fine for me, it's almost the same lvl of darkness of the original game i'm playing along with revision, just to see area changes.

Actually, for some people like me, even on brightness 1.0, the textures on ground look completely dark, even darker than the new vegas mod, that bring true dark.

I tryed the normal game with Kentie's launcher and direct3D9, so i don't think it's a direct x problem ?

It's fine as it is, but i am posting here, when i saw your screenshot, i thought i could try to have the same graphics than you, but didn't find a way, so maybe i had to post here.
