Aug canister not usable

Well, I 'had' a bug where the first general purpose aug canister I found (at the LaGuardia airport) turned out to be uninstallable. The augment screen when opening up with a med bot simply did not recognize it being present. Attempting to 'use' the aug cannister from the inventory screen would crash the game. So I tried turning off Biomod...

And apparently deleted my entire savegame up to that point. That's what I get apparently for turning on a game before wakeup coffee. Seriously, is there no way to have a multi-save option, of at least create a backup before freaking deletion?!

Now I need to find out if there is some sort of god mode that I can turn on temporarily to speed my way back to where I was. I have zero desire to replay the game up to this point. I've already replayed this game more times than I remember in the past, and was willing to give it another shot to experience it with ther revision mod, but there is a limit.

'Normal', Biomod, and Shifter saves are different saves, you can't load one while playing a different mode, so your save probably wasn't deleted.

As for the augmentation canister, I'll look into it.

You said that the 'use' button makes the game crash, that's already been fixed for next patch, sorry for that. But, the 'use' button is only available for augmentation upgrade canisters instead of ones that install augmentations. So I'm assuming that was what you had. Those canisters cannot be used via the medical bot and must be used out of the menu. Open the inventory and then press 'Augs' at the top (this is what the 'use' button would have done), then select an augmentation and then press the 'Upgrade' button at the bottom.

Sure enough I did not lose my biomod save. That did not stop me however from blitzing through a second run with shifter enabled instead of biomod, to see if the bug was a biomod bug. The same bug occurs at the same place using shifter, the augmentation canister is unusable.

Sure. Give me a few minutes. I'm not sure I can post images in Steam, but I can give you a link to them at least... Oh, and I have to figure out the screenshot key and where it stores them... Might take a few extra minutes.

If you mean Steam screenshots then you can open the screenshot manager after you play and select Deus Ex: Revision then 'Show on disk'.

Ok, I think I may simply have been the victim of recurring newbishness. I loaded the game and sure enough, the augmentation cannister was not registering in the augmentation tab, however... That is when I have done so using a med bot. Apparently, I did not know this, but you do not need a med bot in order to use an augmentation 'upgrade' cannister. Specified augmentations show up in the med bot menu, because you need a medbot in order to install them. Augmentation 'upgrade' cannisters apparently do 'not' show up in that menu, because you do not need a medbot to install them!

ARGH!
