Should I play this mod for my first Deus Ex playthrough ever?
or should I go with vanilla?

Defintley play the revision mod straight away, its 10 times better (or more) than the originial. YOu wont miss out on anything, and the graphics are much better, you have achievements as well! But since you are new to the game, be sure to play the training level before starting the main game or story.

Always play Vanilla first. Revision is VERY different and not always in the best way.

This is a good video that will help you.
I would only get a graphics mod for your first playtrough.
Revision can be a total overhaul, Maybe you don't mind, but im glad I played vanilla before this mod.

Likely irrelevant now, but I didn't feel Revision was anything special, it's not bad, but I wouldn't say your missing anything by skipping it Or playing GOTY first.

Vanilla or GMDX. GMDX is same but little bit changed augments and a lot difficult but it's more of the same as Vanilla unlike Revision that has changed almost everything including maps.

Good point, if one new to Deus Ex would really like to experience it, the story, the lore in a more relevant atmosphere then they should avoid Revision first. Revision is Deus Ex Quirky edition it doesn't enhance neither the feel nor depth of the original game if that's what the player is looking for.

i don't know what you decided to go with. but as someone played this game when it originally came out - and a few times since...
i envy you. i wish i could play it for the first time again.

As you can see, he is playing Revision mod which is completely different game and he will not enjoy it like it was supposed to be.

yeah I agree. I watched some playthrough videos from vanilla deus ex and level design in some places is different and I think in a good way too, but I can't form a longer opinion about it just yet.
better graphics are meh too. Some high quality models look out of place next to some of the lower quality ones

DO not play Revision first, it remake a lot of locations, its very good for second playthrough, but not the first. Play vanilla, locations are pretty empty compare to Revision/GMDX but its not THAT bad, and then you can play it 2 additional times with this 2 mods. It gives you more content.

I’d play vanilla but just install Kenties Launcher and use Biomod instead. You get all of the best features of GMDX but it’s much more faithful. Deus Ex still looks good even with vanilla graphics.
