Revision doesn't come with it, and the devs don't support it, but you can find it here[kentie.net].

Direct3D10 is not recommended for a couple of reasons, mainly that it's a slower the D3D9, it has certain bugs associated with it (at least on some cards) and it has another lighting scheme that is not really what we had in mind when developing the mod.

Any particular reason why you can't/won't use D3D9?

It is crashing in 4K but running fine in 3K so I thought maybe if I used DirectX 10 is will work in 4K. What about OpenGL, will the game look the same as the DirectX 9 version if I use OpenGL in 4K or should I stick with DirectX 9 in 3K?

This is a limitation of the original rendering engine and nothing the render devices can fix (unless I'm totally mistaken). 4k won't work unless the entire rendering pipeline is rewirtten, but 3k seems to be just about the limit there. If you are experiencing performance issues try lowering the resolution.

Yeah, that is also my concern. Steam Store page of the mod states "Direct3D 9 Rendering courtesy of Chris Dohnal." Chris Dohnal's OpenGL renderer for Deus Ex performs way better on older systems and as well as on GNU/Linux via Wine. I wonder if it is possible to manually install OpenGL renderer for the mod. And will the graphical improvements of the mod support OpenGL?

Yes OpenGL works, we just found that D3D9 was slightly faster and had less issues in our own testing. But use whatever works best for you.

You can, it's slower then d3d9 but if your computer can handle it, sure. Also bear in mind that Revision iasn't designed with the new ligthing sceme in mind.

other than maybe screwing with the style, is there any known bug?

There have been some known issues with D3D10, however Kentie recently released a new version of the renderer so perhaps those are fixed now. No known issues with using it with Revision, sort of just general D3D10 issues.

I definitely haven't had any issues with the DX10 shader that haven't been present on the DX9 shader as well - I haven't gone through the entire mod yet though.

I've noticed one or two odd things, like flickering textures (fixed apparently in the latest dx10 renderer release, I copied in the updated one myself), and the rocket helicopter animation at the Hong Kong MJ12 base door crashing the game. I switched to the DX9 renderer temporarily to get past that part.

For what it's worth, I *really* like the lighting scheme in the DX10 renderer and I'll be playing the rest of the game with it.

Link to the new kentie renderer?

@brunocar02:
Windows 10, DX10 renderer, OS-supplied DirectX 12, GeForce 760M (yep, it's a laptop),

My game crashed two times after I posted that :(
The DX10 renderer seems to be getting more unstable as I go through the game - I'm currently in the Wan Chai market in Hong Kong.

Is there any way to enable the DX10 lighting scheme in the DX9 renderer?
