Regarding the Peasants, there are 4 AI each with different difficulties. The difficulty is based on when you see them during the campaign
In order from easiest to hardest:
Baron (Easiest), Knight, Bishop, Accountess (Hardest)
Their difficulty is what makes them have more or less peasants.
The World is the final map in the Siege pack campaign, and outside of the rough start due to the state of your county, I still see them sending armies consisting mostly of Peasants that they suicide into my Norman Keeps/Royals. That's obviously not including the 30-50 man groups they send to destroy your fields.
The only way I've been able to see the other Lords with any kind of mixed army is in Custom games, setting the difficulty to Impossible and setting the starting Weapons to Many. Once they go through the beginning settings, the AI armies begin to default to mostly Peasents regardless of how healthy their Counties, how often they get Merchants, or even what type of Industry they have.
Which actually leads me to another good question; Have you been able to find a way for the AI to hire and use Mercs?
The campaign never goes above Hard difficulty, the only actual challenge for experienced players is the impossible difficulty which gives the AI an abundance of free resources. (Happiness, Population, Crowns)
If you can find a way to create more maps, or a map editor, that would be phenomenal. Or whats more, a way to string them together and make not only new maps, but a new campaign. Id happily dump hours into creating them.
