Lords of the Realm II

Lords of the Realm II

Game does not run after Windows 11 update/Steam update
I played the game for months and suddenly after a Windows update to 11, the game does not even start, not even a error message, just black screen and back to destkop.

I have tried multiple compatibility modes, to no avail. Is anyone experiencing the same?

Yes. Compatibility mode won't work. Used to get that same thing all of the time, even when installing from the CD. (Win7, Win8 and Win10).
I had to go into the core game files and tweak the graphics files. It's been so long ago though, I don't remember the details. I posted it in the discussion here, but cannot seem to locate it.
I haven't even tried win11 yet - too much spyware and bloatware. I disabled Microsoft's spyware in Win10 and it freed up nearly 50% of disk, system and running memory.

I have the same problem, reached out to Rebellion one and a half week ago but still no reaction. tried everything i could think of in the settings and even asked around if anyone knew some other secret trick that could possibly make it work, however nothing worked.

Going into compatibility and setting it to Windows 8 and running it in 640x480 worked for me.

Maybe worth a try to install the latest DirectX 9 runtime package. I have done this since Win 10 for older games. There are some features in 9.0c missing in the higher versions.
If you install 9.0c, it does not mean a downgrade of DirectX. It just adds missing features to DirectX 10/11/12..

Grafik: NNVidia/ATI 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 with Hardware T&L support (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended)
