Sorry for being a total noob at this. :( I r dumb
Make sure that you copy the 4 .DLL files into the Lords of the realm 2 Directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Lords of the Realm II\English\Lords of the Realm II).
When you are either selecting the faction or the map/settings, other players can join using the IPX connection
I copied the entire IPX download into that dir. Ran the regedit and I can see the IPX connection within the game. I just don't understand, at all, what to do from there is the issue. I can create a game. It asks me to name the session. After that, I can't do anything. It doesn't let me continue only go back from the faction select screen. Additionally, I still don't know how a friend can connect to me. There is some missing piece of the puzzle I just don't understand. Feel free to message me directly if it's easier
I spent a few nights trying to get it to work via TCP/IP and Hamanchi. And whilst I could see the host's session, I couldn't connect further (it would return me back to the main menu after a 20 second pause).
I also tried GameRanger. I had to browse for Lords2 but under the Lords2 Demo game configuration which was odd. However, one of us hosted the game, and for the other player it just hung on the "waiting for host to start" screen on GameRanger, so that didn't work etiher. (which is a shame, because it was very interesting to see GameRanger as a network option in Lords!)
The IPX wrapper works but there are a few problems we've found:
For the second issue at least, we're trying to save the game at the beginning of a turn. But we're not sure what it is you do to force it to "lose connection"
The dialogue boxes dismissing instantly is a known bug, and I'm am currently working on a fix for that.
For the connection errors here are steps that you can follow to sync up multiplayer games:
Step 1: Start a new custom single player game
Step 2: Set game speed to 10 (If it is already at 10 skip to Step 5.)
Step 3: Close out of the application and restart LOTR2 ("Exit the game my Lord...?")
Step 4: Start another new custom single player game
Step 5: Set game speed to 9 (If playing multiplayer through lobby applications like GameRanger go to Step 7, otherwise go to Step 6.)
Step 6: Exit out of the single player game (Select New Game from the File tab.) into the main menu and host/connect through IP, game speed should now be synced on all players. If you exit out of the application you will need to start over from Step 1!
Step 7: Close out of the application and host/join the gameranger LOTR2 lobby and have the host start the multiplayer game from the GameRanger room, game speed should now be synced on all players.

I don't suppose you've made any progress with working out how to stop the dialogue boxes disappearing?
I have made some progress but currently working on a user friendly way of making it work for everyone. It might take some time but hopefully I'll get a fix for it eventually.
That would be EPIC, Good Luck :)
So does it does that on the multiplayer platform to?
