Legendary Cards Definitely Need to be Limited in Decks
I can accept the fact that Legendaries are a bit OP (Ruunin for example with his "Return to your hand ability), but it's really frustrating to battle an OP player who has a deck made entirely of Legendaries.

These cards should follow the rules set for other card games where you can only have a few of 'em in a given deck, not all of 'em bunched up together in one deck.

Call it "strategy" or "tactics" if you will... but it'll never get rid of the fact that suck a deck is proof that the game seems to be favoring Pay2Win :P

agreed
I was actually able to survive that guy's deck for a while with my Red burn suicide defensive deck, but that damned RNG messed me up with craptastic draws.

What card game only allows you to have a few legendaries in your deck? Most of the legendaries suck and you can only have 1 of each, meaning decks built around them are often unreliable because you are in no way guaranteed to draw it. You can't even construct a deck of all legendaries yet because there are only 21 in the game, so I don't know what you're talking about with your "deck entirely made of legendaries" thing. Maybe you just encountered Magda and didn't read her card text.

Ruunin is one of the better legendaries, but it's still an 8 cost 6/6 and then a 6 cost 6/6. You basically need to kill it twice before it breaks even (total cost of 16 to summon 3 6/6s, effectively 5.33 faeria cost for a 6/6 which is only a little bit above average), and it can be removed entirely by transformation effects. If you're committing to killing Ruunin that's where you lost the game, you should ignore it and abuse the two-three turn tempo advantage you now have as your opponent trades in and re-summons Ruunin. Just keep your minions in a position that prevents Ruunin from getting favorable trades; if the opponent has to buff Ruunin to get a trade, that buff is a additional cost sunk into an inefficiently valued minion.

I think that only aurora, magda and the green dragon are really OP. Runnin is kinda late, like the most of green decks, so it can be countered easily by a rush, poison deck. For runnin, frogify is THE COUNTER.

yes, all special cards should be limited. It was even since MTG 10 years ago

Pretty sure the top legendary cards are Aurora, Garudan, Khalim, Baeru and possibly Runnin but the top 4 mentioned are pretty much the meta right now.

I absolutly agree with "#1 Ranked Slime NA"! I don't know any game where the amount of legendary cards that you can have in your deck is limited. Only the amount of specific cards in your deck is limited.

Even in MTG there is no limit for certain cards outside of Standard with is, as the name suggests, the format in which most tournaments are played.
Awesome points folks, gg :P

But those points exactly is why a lot of F2P games turn sour.

P2W jerks.

The game has been pretty good for me so far. I tend to just try to play my free pandora run. My biggest issue with the game is that there arent enough people playing, so Im rarely playing someone my rank, or even in my own league sometimes

Yeah, it's not easy to find games at all. :(

If you look at the decks at the top of the ladder, those decks usually include only couple of legendaries. There are so many legendaries that are not seeing play at all, especially most of the neutral ones. Legendaries usually have a very situational effect and don't have respectable bodies otherwise. For example, if you play Garudan on an empty board you are paying 10 mana for 6/6 flying body, which is extremely bad. Therefore, filling your deck with legendaries is not a viable strategy in Faeria.

About the P2W aspect, I would not sign that. Faeria is quite generous what it comes to legendaries and packs in general. In Faeria, you get a legendary about every 12 packs. Compare this to Hearthstone, the ratio is about one legendary per 20 packs. If you take into account how much the game gives you packs early on from leveling and solo quests, you will surely have enough color legendaries to build a competitive deck around.

Many new players often complain about Magda. She is good - if you cannot deal with her - but that usually is not that hard anyways.

About the "not enough players" complain... even so the game is f2p now, it's still in developement. Maybe the number of players will increase once it reaches V1.0

I just bought this game on sale and I have found that after reaching level 22 every PVP opponent uses nothing but a deck full of legendaries. It makes continuing to play feel like a grind where I need to get as many legendaries as possible and then beat up on the new players in the same fashion. BTW are there any silence cards in this game? (i.e. erase opponents' units' ability?)
Moonfassa Feb 18, 2022 @ 8:00pm
Like Nash mentioned, most competitive decks will not run many, if any legendaries. They may seem OP starting off, but as you play more you'll learn why most are super niche or just terrible. Competetitve faeria is a lot faster paced than you might first think, which makes cards like ruunin and magda not so good. Magda especially is very bad, BECAUSE she gives you legendaries. They're usually dead weight and magda is extremely expensive for that. But again, this is just speaking from a competitive viewpoint.

As for silence abilities, there is transform (frogify/mirror phantasm)
