Game doesn't start (fatal error)

I have bought the game because the VR support, but when I start it (normal mode, not VR) the game don't launch. A message appears: "Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D Device being lost Error: 0x887A0020

My PC is up to date, I have GTX 1070 and Xbox One game pad.

So you're trying to play the game in non-VR mode? Did you run directly from the library? Restarting your PC has no effect?

I have tried both VR and non-VR mode, and restarting my pc, and always the same error. I am using Windows 10 (all updated)

Have you tried uninstalling and wiping the C:/users/___/Local/AppData/Grip folder?

Are you playing on a laptop by any chance? Need to make sure it's not trying to use the Intel GPU instead of the Nvidia one

Also, someone on our Discord fixed it by doing this:

I just changed my graphics settings and lowered my page file. Restarted and the game works. Thank you for your support

Yes, I have the same error than KingoftheRing. I have 800+ games, a lot of them have bugs, but it is the first time a game doesn't launch...

I have a full PC, not a laptop.

I have the same problem. I've been able to launch it on geforce now last month but it never worked on my pc. I have a gtx 970 on windows 10 and everything is up to date

I have fix it with new install the Nvidia driver. But i have bad performance in VR. I play with a Ryzen 3600 and 1080Ti and play on low settings with 90% resolution and i cant hold the 90FPS especially on the ice track.
I can play in normal mode with all high settings and 144hz/FPS no problems.

I'm getting this same error but only in tier 9 campaign. Games starts fine. I can play anything below tier 9. I tried reinstalling my drivers and the game but this doesn't fix it. I have tried many of the fixes mentioned in the forums to no avail.

My PC is up to date using dual 2080 supers in sli.

Any advice is greatly appreciated
