Do you actually have a 4k monitor or are you trying to downsample?
And is what you're playing on a monitor or a tv?

I use DSR which works in every game I play. But not this one apparently.

I changed to 4k in the settings and applied, but nothing happened. I can´t find the pref or ini files either :/

GRIP currently can't exceed the monitor's native resolution.
From what I remember, creating a DSR desktop and then launching GRIP should work.

Such a pity.

Use the internal UE4 resolution scaler, Engine.ini file will be somewhere in:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\NameOfGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Then add there:
[/script/engine.renderersettings] r.ScreenPercentage=100

100 = 100% of your native screen resolution, set it higher to your liking (i'm usually using 125% in UE4 games).

There are some potential issues to be encountered, but that depends, it's usually just fine.

From what i know, Grip has the slider implemented but it won't go beyond 100, like any other UE4 game that omits any sort of manual video settings tweaking (All Hail the horrible UE4 scalability presets and TXAA).

Added the extra line to the engine.ini file, seems to make no difference to the resolution size.

For what it's worth, I have a 4k monitor and can use 4k res fine. I do have to play in 1080p though because my computer can't handle the game in 4k.

I did screenshot some of the vehicles in 4k and I must say that it looks gorgeous.

I have a 4k monitor but selecting res. ingame actually does nothing( using rtx 2080 ).
I guees i need change the ini.

edit:
I have set my Desktop to native 4k, now the game starts in 4k but after loading the intro it goes back to 1920x1080

editv2:
r.ScreenPercentage=200

Works fine, not res. 3840x2160 but is basically the same

My solution is if you want to use super sampling (as in, have 1080p screen, and want to use better than crappy UE4 temporal AA), that will not fix the game not appropriately filling fullscreen on 4k.

If the game have issues detecting 4k output then contact dev and report that as a bug.

Reported. Thanks guys

UE4 clamps the resolution scale to 100%, not us. I'll hack it so it goes up to 200% and we modify both the resolution scale and screen percentage in tandem. We can't guarantee any particular outcome though, the rendering engine is a complex beast.

Thank you :steamhappy:

I have the same problem. I am not able to change the resolution to 4K. Even on a 4K panel the game starts at 4K but then changes to 1080p when going to the main menu just after the company logos. I am also not able to activate HDR; the option remains greyed out even though HDR is set in Windows settings. I have this same problem with Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet.

Same. Can't activate HDR while in 3840x2160p. I have an HDR monitor; ASUS RoG model PG27U 144hz 4k
