2. Hold down the pickup left or right pickup button instead of just tapping it
1. that's too bad, they should really implement that feature for at least some weapons
2. thanks! but how are you supposed to know that? did I miss something in the tutorial?
(Edit) I suppose I should qualify that "the last time" I played was probably well over a year ago, maybe more...until today. Really impressed with how the game came along.
And like someone else said, to charge powerups hold down the powerup button of the one you want to charge up
Pity, since I do kind of miss it. Whenever I'm in the first couple positions I find myself throwing away good weapons just to make sure I have a shield in one of my slots. Would be nice to have at least -one- thing to use when you're in the lead, aside from the booster (which I save as well if I'm already leading, just in case someone pulls ahead during the crunch.)
(Edit) Also, it kind of renders the powered-up shield useless except for the arena deathmatch mode.
Also I'm pretty sure I remember the ability to shoot backwards somewhere in the beta stage, but it was removed indeed. Gotta git gud to conserve that pole
Powered-up shield is also the only counter (right now) to Hydra so it can be useful too.
Not only does the powered-up shield allow you to ram people, it becomes invincible.
Oh yeah. Trust me though, GRIP is not the worst :p I am working with a software called Coq, which means "rooster" in french. Whenever I google something about Coq, I have a probability to find some cuisine recipe instead..
lmao really? in general I have no idea yet when, why and how to use jumping...
There are speedboosts placed in places reached jumping.. And sometimes a different route only reached by jumping. A video guide here in the community hub under guides about Atoll map mentions a route reached by jumping as an example. Unfortunately I can't remember map names so can't really point out more, but keeps you eyes open and you will notice some of those locations. Also in that map where you have to jump over the starting location ( one of the easier maps ), a jump can help main speed where you otherwise might not fully make the jump and slow down as a result.
The jump button on a xbox style controller is the A button. . The longer ya hold it down the higher you jump .. It will use the same energy bar as tthe boost button.
Turning in the air is done by letting go of the acceleration and then steering. Would love to see a vid of someone use it to shoot backwards tho, that would require some skills.
AFAIK, shooting backwards was tried except Rob had troubles coding it since it was way harder than any tester or even he could have imagined.
I'm still compiling suggestions on the combat aspect of the game and that's in fact a recurring player request.
As opinions go, I'd say it's definitely not cheap and I hope in the future, taking the risk to look behind will reward players with the ability to shoot back (would make the front shield that much more useful) !
