Wheel support? Play with controller?
Hello there!

I recently thought about Extreme-G on the N64 console and searched after a similar game and found this, so I'll try this one out.

I've searched through this forum and found that some steering wheels are working while some aren't and last comment I saw was in december 2018 about it and it was at a to-do list, so I guess it's under development and I saw the first comment was from 2016 about this topic, just fast read it through, probably missed out of some comments.

Anyways, my question is this, is there going to be a steering wheel support for GRIP and in that case, which brands are being supported?

Also is this game playable via a keyboard or do you have to use a hand controller such as Xone, like if you have a wireless adapter to Xbox controller?

However the game plays fine on keyboard, no need to buy a xbox one controller, we have a few keyboard players in the MP community

Thank You a lot, then I'll try testing it out with my KB/M :)

One thing, I got an Xbox One controller and in-game it says that I need to 'activate firestorm' by pressing LSHIFT on keyboard or L1 on controller and yeah, I can't see that option on my controller, tested clicking the joypadstick down and all other buttons but it keep telling my to activate the firestorm in order to get ahead of the BOT challengers.

Super uber noob question I know, but any solutions, or isn't it fully supported? Any idea to which button I should keybind that action? Can't get pass the tutorial.

Edit: Got it working now, must first take it as a pickup, okay.

Wheel support isn't out of the question, it's just been put aside for the time being as it's very resource intensive for various development reasons

Hi Chris, but wheel support was promise at the beginning when Caged Element first started raising money for GRIP and reading that there would be wheel support, I put my money down.

I have supported 4 racing games with early access $$, that promise wheel support. Bugbear\ Wreckfest, Refract\ Distance have delivered on their promise for wheel support. :)

Stainless Games\ Carmageddon: Reincarnation failed on their promise to have wheel support, even a year after final release. :(

It been a long wait Chris, hope you guys can deliver on the promise you guys made for wheel support! Maybe talk to the Refract Devs, they a small studio, but had basic wheel support well before Distance final version was release.

If you are talking of the Kickstarter, that Kickstarter failed, and Caged Element never received the money people invested - we've all been refunded by Kickstarter website. So all the stuff that was promised in the Kickstarter, the devs have no moral or legal obligation to deliver those, since they didn't get the money to do it.

If you are talking of the Paypal campaign they did after that, to try to get the first fundings to get the thing going, I don't remember them promising anything regarding wheel support. It was just stated that we would get the game, with additional DLCs based on our pledge amount.

If Bugbear forum was still up I have show what was posted, you could pre-order GRIP from a web site that Caged Element had. With out the promise that wheel support was planned, I would not been one the first group of players to pr-order GRIP back in the summer of 2015 for $20.

Wheel support is planned.

Remapping keyboard is apparently not as easy as it sounds. For some reason UE4 is making it hard, but it's planned. Just not top priority right now as there are more pressing issues
I want wheel support
