Arcania ...wait, where is Gothic IV, the rest of its former name?

Do you know when did they change the game's title? The game was named Arcania: Gothic IV, but now I noticed that there is no "Gothic IV" in the name anymore.

Yeah Piranha Bytes the creators of Gothic 1-3 got the rights to the series back so Gothic 4:Arcania which was created by another company had Gothic 4 removed from the title, I assume so they can make a sequel (Arcania 2) if they wish.

No, it's not a true Gothic 4, either you're trolling or you've never played the first 3 Gothics. Also at least Gothic 1 and 2 work flawlessly, don't blame the games because your PC can't run them.

I own the series. I have played them. gothic 4: arcania is in fact a true gothic game.
there are people, plants creatures, among other things from the series in the game.
games change and players need to except that fact.
my pc is more than powerful enough to play the gothic series and any games that do not work, gothic 1 is because it is broken and that is why there are fixes from the community for it. the developers for gothic 3 have even taken the community patch done by the community and added it as an official beta download for gothic 3.

Risen is a true gothic 4. Yes, 2-3 are trash. PB just cant make proper rpg with modern technology that would beat their gothic series but their games still beter than Arcania.

sometimes a linear story is needed. nothing wrong with arcaina. I enjoyed it nd will enjoy it several more times throughout my life. I will also enjoy the rest of the gothic series. seems some people want a series to stay the same and nothing new to be tried. I am fine with change.
maybe you could enlighten me with a list of things you do not like about arcania and a list of things you like about the first 3 gothic games.
I like the way arcania tried to do the bow and arrow system and I thought several other changes were nicely done too. it sucked that they took away the effects of sharpening the weapons on the grindstone and other rpg elements but the game as a whole worked very well.
perhaps they could remaster and give a newer version updated of gothic series. I would welcome a chance to play a gothic 1 that works without having to download stuff that may not be safe for my PC.

where you got linear story from? We talk about game being linear. Unlike open world gothic in arcania you have tiny areas with gate that will never unlock unless you finish main quest.
Exploration is non existant. Its like playing corridor fps. Even dark souls, bloodborn have more freadom.

There's a mod for Skyrim that adds some people and enemies from the Gothic series in Skyrim, so according to you, Skryim is a true Gothic game.

Just because they slapped the names of older characters and monsters on some npcs/enemies, doesn't mean it's a true Gothic game, hell, if ArcaniA is a true Gothic game, then how come it's not even called Gothic anymore?

Also, that your PC is powerful enough to play the Gothic series doesn't mean anything, I have a high-end rig myself and can max out games like AC:Unity at 60FPS most of the time, doesn't mean anything though. Gothic 1 + 2 run without a problem on my rig, no patches needed. Gothic 3 on the other hand is a buggy mess, I fully agree.

Anyways, I can see that you're not a troll, you just really like ArcaniA, which is fine, I like the game as well, so we're just having different opinions here.
