Can't launch Gothic 4

Hello guys. Whenever I try to launch Gothic 4 it does nothing. I have tried a couple solutions but none of them work. I use windows 7 32 bit. Have any ideas how to fix this?

i have windows 7 64bit and have the same problem. The only fix i found was completely deleting my ati virus software (i use avast) and that was a whole sketchy process in itself. After deleting it the game ran fine, even after reinstalling. but now its been a few days and im at the same issue. I dont want to delete my anti virus...

This solved my problem, go to the folder arcania, now opens the folder. Right click on the launcher/properties/compatibility/change Windows Service pack 3 for Windows Service Pack 2

Try to copy the files - cudart...dll (depending on the installed system) from folder - Program Files\ Nvidia...\ PhysX to folder with this game. In my case it helped on both Win7 x64 and Vista x32.

Visioniac i tried that just now. coppied the cudartx64 (i picked this one assuming since i run win 7 64 bit.) and pasted the file into my arcania gothic 4 folder inside my common steamapps. I still got the same error. any more info on the fix or did i possibly do it wrong? thanks for the help.

I just got the game and am also having this problem, tried every compatibility mode available to no avail.

CastratedBeaver, 100% something wrong with the PhysX package that is included with this game. After downloading and without installation included packages this game works fine, but if PhysX from this download was already installed, always the same error.

So try this.
1. From the Nvidia site download and install 2 PhysX software packages. The latest version (http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html) and the legacy (http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.0604-legacy-driver.html).
2. Copy ALL cudart files.
3. Run the game.
4. If the same error, run the verification process from the Steam client menu and try again.

This download has another problem, when choose check cache, the game runs itself.

Copied all cudart files (there were 4) into the arcania gothic 4 folder. Still same error!:(. I will now try to verify the cache.

Remove from the game folder the file - PhysXLoader.dll and then run the verification. If still don't work, remove also all PhysX... files and verify again. I do not know exactly which files are corrupted in your case, so keep fighting.

Nope still nothing. Was anxious to play since it looks intresting.
