Bugs (and fix) after game update (14-Dec-2015)... (BEFORE YOU BUY)

BUG! Textures issues after this Steam update (not present before):

-Buggy shadows on faces (head, face, neck)
-Water puddles flickering
-very slow performance

To reproduce the bug you have to set video settings to ultra with 'Settings/Video/Advanced/Detailed faces' option on.

Thankyou for this response hexaae! I'm having trouble with the hex editor though, none of the values you've listed show up when i search for them in Arcania.exe using HxD.

This is after a clean install. are you able to upload your edited arcania.exe please?

Download HxD.
Drag'n'drop Arcania.exe (remember to install first the "legacy" version, see points 0,1) into HxD.
From menu select Search > Go to... and enter the hexadecimal address (e.g. the first is D36), now change hexadecimal (from left panel) byte value $03 to $23.
Do the same for the other 5 bytes to be modified.
C'mon is so trivial and takes less then 5 mins...

I've followed your directions exactly but I don't have the same values show up for example, when i search D36 there is no 03 to change.

Re-read what I've written: D36 is the hexadecimal address of the byte to change, not the bytes to search for.... ;)
HxD shows your current position in the bottom left (Offset), you can use Search > Go To... menu to quickly reach that D36 hex position.

and be sure you've installed PhysX and PhysX Legacy.
Be also sure you started from the Arcania legacy exe as explained in the solutions...

* for example the second line means: go to address '00987A33' (hex) and change byte $32  to $30 ($n = hexadecimal number on the left panel). Third line: go to 988749 and change byte 31 to 38... etc. Do this for all 6 bytes in the list to apply required patches.

Improvements over std Steam version:

• much faster and video refresh looks visibly smoother (some locations now pass from 48->79 fps, up to 130fps in exteriors)

i have done every step you put here but my game doesn´t start and when i just changed to legacy without using de Hex deitor my saves displayed like damaged

You probably tried to patch the NON legacy exe.
Follow these steps: first complete download, and then switch to beta legacy, then apply the fix (and remember to set cores accordingly to your own specs).

Try to delete the exe only and perform a Cache repair from Steam (should re-download the legacy exe, since you set the beta legacy already). Then re-apply the patches.

I did this fix but the game still stutters quite a bit in the first village. And I have a pc that should run Arcania without any problems.

It's weird Nordic doesn't bother to patch this game. They are usually great with support...

So I am right - I have to download the legacy version, patch it with HxD and play the legacy version or afetr patching I can update to the latest version?
