Are there missables?

I'm playing on PS4 and this game is pretty horrendous. Cutscenes don't play at all for instance. The sound starts glitching terribly and doesn't resolve until you exit to the main menu and reload a save from there. I have a soft spot for janky Euro RPGs and enjoyed the first Gothic, but this is testing me.

Anyway, I just beat the first boss and am now in a new area. I read apparently there are relics in the first area. Do you ever return there, or are they lost to me forever (unless I load an old save)? Thanks.

if I remember correctly, you can't go back, but the worst thing you can do is go for all the collectibles, the game is bad enough without wasting even more time on it. I think there are 4 kinds, each unlocking a unique armor or weapon or something for different builds, so you'll only be using one of them anyway. maybe look up what's what and where those things are and ignore the rest.

Thanks for the quick response. There are trophies for collecting all the collectibles. I rarely bother trying to Platinum games, but it bugs me when I know I absolutely CAN'T. So I'll probably reload a save and use a walkthrough to nab the ones on the first island.
