The Guild II: Renaissance

Guide to Playing Rogue Class
Ever dream of running your own crime family? This guide will explain the easiest way for a starting crime family to gain the wealth and influence of the Corleone family.

Rogue Class:
The rogue class is made for those players who do not mind maiming, murdering, pillaging and blackmailing their way to the top of the political ladder. All of these activities have a huge negative effect though, people will not like you... In fact most people will down right HATE you and your family! Do not expect to gain political positions quickly or joining to families over night. (Although there are ways around it!)

Robber Camp:
Your robbers can make money in three different ways, one is pillaging passing carts for goods made by other players, two raiding other families businesses and three extorting protection money.

Pillaging
Pros - Chance to raid a cart transporting weapons, gems, crafted items and in the beginning rather low risk to your robbers since no one really has money to buy guards yet.

Cons - Most of the time the cart is carrying worthless iteams, targetting is random and after a few raids most businesses hire guards! You will loss money if you keep having to hire robbers!

Raiding
Pros - You can raid certain businesses which can turn a huge profit such as mines and weapon smithes

Cons - Guards will sometimes catch you in the act, owner of mines tends to be village mayor so be prepared to never get a position in your home town

Protection Money
Pros - Easy money since you do not really have to do anything to get the money, money is based on the value of goods in storage so mines, farms and wood cutters provide the most money. If the owner refuses protection money stop your robber from raiding the building and retry until the owner gives in... annoyance is better then burning his place to the ground.

Cons - Owners sometimes super stubborn and will never give you money unless you hurt their business, sometimes thugs from other criminal families will kill your robber

Mercenary Camp
The only activity worth mentioning here is collecting tolls from passing travellers... Your mercenary will shake down carts as they pass by the location you set. Every time you shake down someone they loss a little respect for your family, nothing crazy but after an extended game the effects become more noticable when not a single family likes you...

Thieves Den
Honestly just one building is all you need to make money with this profession... Hire a full company of thieves and set each one to pickpocket in each cities market. You will start getting money in a few mins... Again you will get another hit to your respect but its not like you're in the goodwill so who cares!

WARNING!!!!!!
The follow tip is considered an exploit or a cheat and will break the mechanics of the game but here we go! ;D

You can play dice in the smugglers den, before playing save your game, play and win, if you lose reload the game and try again! You can easily get millions this way!

Good luck and remember if you want to raise in the political field remember bride and kill your way to the top!

Hah I played a criminal in the first Guild game. Not only was I in control of all the crime in and outside the city I was in charge of the guards too. Long story short I kiddnaped Major a lot and I was in court all the time mostly using thumb screws and other plesent devices on other people. First time I played a lagitamately evil person.

Haha I pretty much was extorting all the businesses in town, tolling the roads, kidnapping people all over the place. Witnesses went on vacation and plantiffs were made an example of.... aw good memories :)

What uses do pubs have other than.. you know... "Female providing services for male with a lust of favors from a prostitute". I don't think having someone serve people in it makes me much money, but i cant be sure!

Everyday around 17:00 people will visit your pub (or your rivals if they are more liked or have a "nicer" place) and you will make a decent amount of coin - you do not even have to have goods to sell, it is assumed that the pub is stocked I guess but just have your family member serve with one other girl then have two girls provide "services" to the good people of your town.

Oh and during the day random people will visit your pub but it is rare and you wouldn't notice the money coming in, just keep your building staffed and you will make money, pretty good money compaired to other businesses that require actual management! :D

How do you kidnap people?

What do you mean by "they went on vacation"? Do you mean you killed them?

Vacation six feet under! lol Anyways you can kidnap people with a level 2+ thieves den and an employee there, you will have to fight the person, knock them out ect. so it is best done away from witnesses or when the victim is traveling between towns.
